Currently under contract until the end of 2024, Charles Leclerc has not yet renewed with Ferrari beyond that. Since 2016, he has been part of the Maranello ranks, first joining the Ferrari Driver Academy before moving to Formula 1 in 2018 with Sauber and then to Ferrari the following year.
Seen as one of the most talented drivers of today, the Monegasque has not had the most suitable equipment to achieve success – which has not changed significantly over the years. This raises doubts about his continuity, especially because there may be appealing vacancies opening up for 2025.
However, in an interview with ESPN, Leclerc was clear – he does not intend to leave the Scuderia before achieving the goal of becoming Formula 1 world champion:
“Do I want to win world titles? Of course, this is the same for everyone, but do I want to switch places with someone? No, I don’t. I have always dreamed of being a Formula 1 driver, and even more so with Ferrari. Now it’s a bit of a family feeling, I have been with the team for so many years, whether as a racing driver for Ferrari or in the Ferrari Driver Academy in previous years. We have been together for many years and I want to finish the mission with a world title.”
