Charles Leclerc humorously hints at dream wedding gift: a title from Lewis Hamilton!

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc Teases Lewis Hamilton: “A Title Would Be Nice as a Wedding Gift!”

In a delightful twist of camaraderie and competition, Ferrari's rising star Charles Leclerc has humorously suggested that a World Championship title would be the perfect wedding gift from fellow racing icon Lewis Hamilton. This playful banter surfaced as Leclerc celebrated his recent nuptials, which he shared on social media, revealing that a more intimate ceremony with close family and friends is planned for next year.

As the F1 community buzzes with excitement ahead of the 2026 season, Hamilton, who has yet to choose a gift for his teammate, expressed his lighthearted approach to gifting. “I’ve never been married,” Hamilton admitted with a chuckle during a media event in Melbourne, “So I definitely haven’t given him any advice. I usually take my time when it comes to gifts. Maybe six months in, I’ll give it to him, maybe.”

Leclerc, always quick with a quip, responded to the wedding gift inquiry with a wink, acknowledging the potential overlap with the 2026 racing season. “Well, in six months’ time it will be the end of the season, so probably a title will be nice,” he mused. “But I’m not sure he would be willing to give me a title!”

Despite the light-hearted nature of the exchange, Leclerc underscored the significance of his wedding day, stating, “It’s a very important moment of my life, and we spoke about it briefly with Lewis. It’s those moments outside of racing that will remain one of the most important moments of my life. So, it was really nice.”

As the season kickoff approaches, Leclerc remains cautiously optimistic about Ferrari's prospects, especially following a strong showing in pre-season testing. The Scuderia is widely regarded as a top contender alongside Mercedes. However, the young driver is keeping his feet firmly on the ground. “I’m quite neutral going into this season,” he stated. “I’ve had quite a few years with the team now, and I know how it’s like. To be driving for Ferrari is very special, but with that comes a lot of noise and expectations that don’t reflect the real picture.”

Leclerc's pragmatic approach to the new season is refreshing, as he emphasizes focusing on daily improvements rather than succumbing to external pressures. “I don’t really have any expectations for now. I just go day by day. I try to do the best possible job, and I hope that means we are here celebrating the first win of the season on Sunday.”

As the engines rev and the excitement builds for the 2026 F1 season, fans eagerly await to see how this playful rivalry between Leclerc and Hamilton unfolds both on and off the track. Will Hamilton surprise his teammate with the ultimate wedding gift? Only time will tell!
