Charles Leclerc, the Ferrari driver, believes that the perception of Ferrari’s 2025 Formula 1 season has been twisted due to the incredible progress made by McLaren in dominating the sport this year. Despite Ferrari’s high expectations entering the season after a strong performance in 2024, they have struggled with their SF-25 car, remaining winless in the first ten races and trailing a significant 191 points behind McLaren.

Leclerc acknowledges that Ferrari is not having the season they had hoped for but denies that it has been a catastrophic year for the team. He points out that McLaren’s remarkable advancement has also caught other teams by surprise, including Mercedes and Red Bull. Leclerc emphasizes the need for Ferrari to understand and adapt to what McLaren has achieved to improve their own performance.

The pressure on Ferrari to succeed is immense, with Leclerc dismissing the notion that external scrutiny has affected the team’s performance negatively. He highlights that Ferrari constantly strives for victory and acknowledges that they are not meeting their own high standards this season. Leclerc reiterates the team’s determination to return Ferrari to the top of Formula 1 and emphasizes the importance of focusing on their own performance rather than external opinions and rumors.

In conclusion, Leclerc’s insights shed light on the challenges faced by Ferrari in the 2025 F1 season and the team’s relentless pursuit of success amidst fierce competition from McLaren. The pressure to perform at the highest level is ever-present, but Leclerc remains confident in Ferrari’s ability to rise to the challenge and make significant improvements as the season progresses.
