Charles Leclerc acredita que a Ferrari está perdendo pontos cruciais para os rivais devido ao declínio inesperado no desempenho de 2024.

The Ferrari Formula 1 team has only accumulated 18 points since their impressive victory in Monaco. Charles Leclerc, driver for Scuderia Ferrari, spoke after the team’s poor performance in Barcelona. Despite battling hard with their opponents, Ferrari finished the race in fifth and sixth places, failing to improve on their initial positions.

During the Spanish Grand Prix, Ferrari was the slowest team compared to Red Bull, McLaren, and Mercedes, resulting in missing out on the podium for the second consecutive race. Since their notable victory in Monaco, the renowned giants of motorsport have only managed to score 18 points, putting them just behind McLaren in the constructors’ championship.

Charles Leclerc acknowledged that the team faced significant difficulties in navigating the medium and high-speed corners at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, despite introducing new improvements to the car. Leclerc emphasized that these ongoing issues with Ferrari cannot be solved immediately and will require time and dedication to find a solution.

Leclerc also expressed that the car’s problems with high and medium-speed corners have persisted since the race in Shanghai. It is crucial that these issues are promptly addressed to correct their precarious situation. Ferrari now heads to the Austrian Grand Prix with a desperate need for a victory or podium finish to make up for the lost points in Montreal and Barcelona.

The Ferrari team boss, whose name has been omitted, shared their thoughts ahead of the upcoming event, stating that their team will be intensely focused on scoring valuable points at the Red Bull Ring. Currently in second place in the championship, the Maranello-based team is trailing leaders Red Bull by 60 points.

Fred Vasseur, representative of Ferrari, spoke about the competitiveness of the four main teams on the grid, emphasizing that they are separated by less than three tenths of a second. This tight margin increases the challenges faced in each race. Vasseur also highlighted that the margins will be even narrower in Spielberg, a track that can be completed in just over a minute.

In 2022, Ferrari emerged victorious in the Austrian Grand Prix thanks to an exceptional performance by Charles Leclerc, who surpassed Red Bull in every aspect. The Maranello team will seek to replicate the same level of mastery next weekend, as they fight for their third victory of the season.
