Ferrari’s 2024 season started with promise, capturing two early victories, but has since spiraled into a disappointing decline in performance. As the Italian constructor grapples with its mid-season slump, Charles Leclerc has pointed to the team’s illustrious history as one of the reasons behind the current turmoil.

Ferrari, with its rich legacy in Formula 1, is no stranger to scrutiny. However, Leclerc believes that the weight of this history places the team under a magnifying glass, leading to more intense criticism when things go wrong. The Monegasque driver suggested that this constant pressure exacerbates Ferrari’s challenges, turning minor setbacks into major crises.

Leclerc emphasized the need for the team to stay resilient during tough times, acknowledging that Ferrari’s tendency to unravel under pressure is something they must overcome. Despite the ongoing issues, he remains optimistic that the Scuderia can learn from their struggles and bounce back in the latter half of the season.

Ferrari’s struggles have been compounded by the recent departure of a key technical figure to Aston Martin, adding to the turmoil within the team. Nevertheless, Leclerc expressed his unwavering confidence in team principal Fred Vasseur. The 26-year-old trusts Vasseur’s leadership and believes he is the right person to steer Ferrari back on course.

As the season progresses, Ferrari faces a stiff challenge from a resurgent Mercedes, with competition heating up across the grid. With the ground-effect era bringing the pack closer together, Ferrari must redouble its efforts if it hopes to regain its early-season form and challenge Red Bull’s dominance.
