In a shocking turn of events at Spa-Francorchamps, Roman Stanek has been declared the winner of the Formula 2 Feature Race after Alex Dunne was hit with a post-race penalty and Arvid Lindblad was disqualified following technical inspections.

The dramatic reshuffling of the race order came after a fierce battle in challenging wet conditions on the track. Despite leading from start to finish, Dunne’s victory was snatched away as he was found to have failed to engage the required start set-up procedure at the beginning of the formation lap. This violation led to a 10-second penalty, pushing him down to 10th place.

According to the FIA report, Dunne’s team claimed they decided not to activate the set-up procedure based on information that the formation laps would be behind the Safety Car and the race would start with a rolling start. However, the stewards concluded that Car 17 was in breach of the regulations and imposed the penalty accordingly.

Meanwhile, Arvid Lindblad, who would have been the race winner, was disqualified for having tire pressures below the allowed limit in all four tires. The stewards found the car to be technically non-compliant and enforced the disqualification as per the regulations.

Roman Stanek celebrated his first victory of the 2025 F2 season, with Ritomo Miyata securing his first podium finish in the series by finishing second. Luke Browning completed the podium, making an impressive charge through the field from 12th to secure his sixth podium of the season.

The race results saw several drivers moving up the order due to penalties, with Leonardo Fornaroli advancing to fifth place. This result catapulted the Italian driver to the top of the championship standings, leading by a mere three points over Richard Verschoor.

The drama at Spa-Francorchamps has shaken up the F2 championship battle, setting the stage for more intense competition in the races to come.
