Change of Dakar truck leader in sight after the first day of the 48-hour stage.

After about 400km of the first part of the 48-hour stage, changes are expected at the top of the Dakar 2024 for the trucks. Timing information is scarce and not detailed, but Martin Macik is well positioned to move to the top of the overall standings.

In what was possible to cover during this Thursday, the Czech driver piloting an Iveco from MM Technology Team managed to be clearly superior to the main rival in the fight for the leadership of the classification, Janus van Kasteren (Boss Machinery Team de Rooy FTP/Iveco).

Macik entered the marathon stage as the second overall, 22m03s behind van Kasteren. A difference that not only canceled out, but also turned into a 19-minute advantage in his favor.
