Chandler Smith Shocks Fans and Calls Out Veteran Journalist for Snubbing Him After North Wilkesboro Victory

In a jaw-dropping turn of events at the Window World 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at North Wilkesboro Speedway, Chandler Smith clinched his second win of the season, narrowing the gap between him and points leader Corey Heim. The victory not only solidified Smith’s position in the championship standings but also stirred up controversy during the post-race media session.

During an interview shared on social media by reporter Steve Taranto, Smith took a direct shot at renowned journalist Bob Pockrass for excluding him from his top-five picks for the race. In a bold statement, Smith addressed Pockrass, saying, “Hey Bob, when you see this, that’s what you get for not picking me as a top-five. Cheers!”

Smith’s exceptional performance has propelled him to second place in the championship standings with an impressive tally of 403 points after ten races in the 2025 season. With six top-five finishes and seven top-10s under his belt, Smith is proving to be a formidable contender on the track.

The race saw intense competition between Smith’s teammate Layne Riggs and Corey Heim, with Riggs ultimately causing Heim to spin out in Turn 1, leading to Heim’s disappointing finish in 17th place. Despite the on-track drama, Riggs secured a commendable runner-up position.

Fans were quick to react to Smith’s bold call-out, with many expressing mixed feelings about his actions. While some criticized Smith for his remarks, others defended his performance, attributing his win to sheer talent rather than external factors.

As tensions simmered post-race, Heim confronted Riggs, admonishing him for his aggressive racing tactics. The heated exchange between the drivers further added fuel to the already intense atmosphere at North Wilkesboro Speedway.

Looking ahead, Front Row Motorsports is gearing up for the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, promising another thrilling showdown on the track. With emotions running high and rivalries intensifying, the upcoming race is poised to deliver edge-of-your-seat action for fans and drivers alike.

While Smith’s bold move may have stirred controversy, it undeniably adds an extra layer of excitement and drama to an already electrifying NASCAR season. As the competition heats up, all eyes are on the drivers as they battle for supremacy on the track.
