CATL, the world leader in batteries for electric vehicles, has just announced the launch of a long-lasting battery that does not degrade during the first 1000 cycles.
The new battery, of which not many details are known, was developed in partnership with Yutong Bus Co, one of the largest passenger bus manufacturers in China, and comes with a warranty of 15 years or 1.5 million kilometers.
Yutong has already announced that the new battery will be used in their upcoming electric vehicles.
Initially targeted for heavy-duty models, CATL’s new battery promises to revolutionize the electric vehicle sector and comes at a time when Yutong has announced the launch of a battery for heavy-duty vehicles with a 10-year warranty or one million kilometers.
It is worth noting that CATL and Yutong established a partnership in 2012 to jointly develop batteries for commercial vehicles and explore new technologies and materials.
