Caterham has revealed the ultimate editions of the 485 and 485 CSR for the European market, announcing that the models will cease production a decade after their launch.
The two variants are the most powerful ever of the Caterham Seven in compliance with Euro 6 regulations, but the company is now forced to end production of the model following the stricter Euro 7 emissions regulations.
Both models are equipped with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder Ford Duratec engine, producing 228 hp and a maximum torque of 205 Nm.
The power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox and a limited slip differential. This allows for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 224 km/h.
The difference between the 485 and 485 CSR Final Edition is that the latter is only available in the long chassis configuration, featuring a more sophisticated push-rod front suspension, fully independent rear suspension, and 15” wheels.
A Caterham announced that it will produce only 60 units of the 485 and 25 units of the 485 CSR Final Edition for the European market, and that both versions are now available for order, with prices starting at €67,495 plus VAT and taxes.
