Carlos Sainz, the Formula 1 sensation, is facing a monumental challenge as he strives to unlearn his Ferrari habits and adapt to his new team, Williams. The Spanish driver estimates that it will take “five to 10 races” to shake off the muscle memory developed during his four-year stint at Ferrari and fully acclimate to the different driving style required by Williams.

Despite securing his first point of the season in Shanghai, Sainz acknowledges that he is struggling to extract the maximum performance from the Williams car, especially in qualifying where he has found himself lagging behind his teammate, Alex Albon, who has already amassed 16 points.

In a candid confession, Sainz revealed the complexities of transitioning from one team to another, emphasizing the need to break free from ingrained habits that may not be conducive to maximizing the potential of the Williams car. He expressed his willingness to experiment with different driving techniques and car setups to find the optimal balance that will unleash his full potential on the track.

The seasoned driver admitted that relearning his approach to corners and adjusting his driving style at his fifth Formula 1 team is an immense challenge, but one that he embraces wholeheartedly. Sainz’s determination to adapt swiftly and perform at the highest level is palpable as he sets ambitious targets to reach his peak form well before the summer break.

As Sainz navigates the demanding process of acclimatizing to a new team and car, his journey serves as a testament to the resilience and adaptability required of elite Formula 1 drivers. With his sights set on rapid progress and a relentless pursuit of excellence, Sainz’s evolution at Williams promises to be a captivating narrative to follow in the upcoming races.
