Carlos Sainz Jr., the Formula 1 sensation, is making waves not only on the racetrack but also off it as he secures a groundbreaking new role as the ambassador of the highly anticipated “Madring” Grand Prix set to debut in 2026.

Known for his speed and skill on the F1 circuit, Sainz is expanding his horizons and influence within the motorsport world. In addition to his ambassadorial role for the Madrid Grand Prix, he also holds the prestigious position of chairman of the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association, advocating for safety and fair play in the sport.

The Madring Grand Prix, a hybrid street circuit, is set to bring a new level of excitement to the F1 calendar in 2026. With a track length of 5.4 km and 22 thrilling turns, including the second-longest straight in the F1 calendar, this circuit promises to test the skills of the world’s best drivers.

Located in Madrid, the Madring circuit will wind its way around iconic landmarks such as the Real Madrid training complex, Spanish Civil War forts, and the Valdebebas festival grounds. The incorporation of public roads into the track design adds a unique element to this hybrid street circuit, setting it apart from traditional racetracks.

As a native Madrileño, Sainz’s appointment as the ambassador of the Madring Grand Prix is a perfect match. His enthusiasm for the project was evident as he participated in the groundbreaking ceremony and shared his excitement for the upcoming races in 2026. Fans can expect nothing short of thrilling action and intense competition on the streets of Madrid.

The addition of the Madring Grand Prix to the F1 calendar marks a significant moment for motorsport enthusiasts worldwide. With Carlos Sainz Jr. at the helm as the ambassador, the anticipation and excitement for the inaugural race in 2026 continue to build, promising an unforgettable experience for drivers and fans alike.
