The 2025 Formula 1 pre-season testing witnessed another thrilling day of action at the Sakhir Circuit in Bahrain. Thursday’s session entailed an adrenaline-pumping morning and afternoon run for the 10 participating teams, showcasing an engrossing spectacle of speed and skill.

As we near the end of the pre-season testing, Friday’s session holds a mere eight hours of turbo-charged action left. This follows an exhilarating second day of the event that saw 18 high-powered beasts take to the track, creating a symphony of roaring engines and burning rubber.

Thursday was a day of rest for Max Verstappen and Alex Albon. The real showstopper, however, was Carlos Sainz from the Williams team who stole the spotlight, topping the time charts with a blistering 1:29.348s effort. This impressive display put the Spanish maestro a mere 0.031s ahead of Ferrari’s iconic driver, Lewis Hamilton, who was the quickest among the 10 morning racers.

Taking the baton from Hamilton for Ferrari, Charles Leclerc performed admirably in the afternoon session, securing the third fastest overall time. The top five was further graced by the dynamic duo from Mercedes, George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who showcased their exceptional prowess on the track.

Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll followed closely in the sixth place, while Red Bull’s Liam Lawson and Alpine’s Jack Doohan took the next spots. Pierre Gasly, another fiery competitor from the Alpine team, seized the ninth fastest time. Rounding off the top-10 was Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar.

Here’s a rundown of the drivers, their teams, and their respective times:

1. Carlos Sainz (Williams) – 1:29.348
2. Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) – 1:29.379
3. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) – 1:29.431
4. George Russell (Mercedes) – 1:29.778
5. Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) – 1:29.784
6. Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) – 1:30.229
7. Liam Lawson (Red Bull) – 1:30.252
8. Jack Doohan (Alpine) – 1:30.368
9. Pierre Gasly (Alpine) – 1:30.430
10. Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) – 1:30.675

The list is followed by Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), Yuki Tsunoda (Racing Bulls), Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris (both McLaren), Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hulkenberg (both Sauber), and Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman (both Haas).

As we inch closer to the culmination of the Formula 1 2025 pre-season testing, the world of motorsport eagerly awaits the final day of action. The stage is set, the engines are ready, and the thrill of Formula 1 racing is set to captivate fans worldwide. Stay tuned for more electrifying updates from the track.
