Carlos Sainz Shatters Expectations with Historic Williams Podium at Azerbaijan Grand Prix!

In a breathtaking display of skill and determination, Carlos Sainz has etched his name into the annals of Formula 1 history by clinching his inaugural podium as a Williams driver at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix! This monumental achievement not only marks a personal triumph for Sainz but also signals a new era for the iconic Williams team.

From the moment the lights went out in Baku, Sainz’s ambition was palpable. After securing an impressive P2 during the record-breaking qualifying session—one marred by six red flags—he was poised for glory. “Plan for tomorrow, try and stick it in the podium,” Sainz declared, emanating confidence as he prepared for the race. “I’m going to give it my best to give Williams that first podium. If it’s possible, great. And if it’s not, we will see.”

And see he did! Sainz crossed the finish line in a dazzling P3, fulfilling his promise and delivering a much-needed boost for the beleaguered Williams team. The race was not just about luck; it was a testament to Sainz’s relentless drive and the team’s hard work. His father, the legendary Carlos Sainz Snr, admitted that while the podium was a remarkable feat, he believed his son had doubts about achieving such a result. “This time it was a podium with Williams, which is an excellent result, especially because it wasn’t thanks to yellow flags or the Safety Car or rain or getting the tyres right,” he stated, emphasizing the significance of this achievement. “A podium finish with Williams is a very special achievement. I think it must be very special for him because I don’t think he thought he would be able to achieve such a result, and in the end, it happened.”

With only seven rounds left in the 2025 season, Sainz’s father is urging him to maintain his focus and continue his hard work. “Now he has to turn the page, keep working hard and think about the next one,” Sainz Snr advised. “Trying to have a good end to the season, continuing to learn, continuing to motivate and teaming up with Williams, and hoping that next year they will have a good car with all the rule changes that are coming.”

This pivotal moment for Carlos Sainz not only celebrates a personal victory but also rejuvenates the spirit of the Williams team—a team with a storied legacy that has faced significant challenges in recent years. As fans and followers of Formula 1 hold their breath for what’s next, one thing is clear: Carlos Sainz is a force to be reckoned with, and his trajectory is only set to rise!
