McLaren is currently one of the fastest teams in Formula 1 and is aiming for its first championship victory since 2008. The Ferrari driver has praised the team based in Woking for their impressive performance during the ongoing 2024 season.

The Papayas have overcome their previous obstacles and have emerged as a leading team this season. McLaren currently holds the second position in the championship, trailing only Red Bull by 51 points after the Hungarian GP.

Carlos Sainz attributes the success of his former team to the significant progress they have made in the past year or so. On the other hand, his current team has not been able to maintain the same level of performance as they did earlier this year.

Ferrari is resorting to desperate measures to return to their winning ways after a series of disappointing races. The upcoming Grand Prix in Spa will be a crucial test for McLaren, Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes to determine who will excel on the free-flowing 7.004-kilometer-long circuit.

Former Ferrari team principal has recently been appointed as the COO and CTO of the Audi F1 project. Carlos Sainz has expressed his support for the Italian’s abilities based on his past experience.

Mattia Binotto has been associated with Ferrari since 1995 and took on the role of team principal in 2019. However, he was dismissed before the 2023 season due to a series of strategic mistakes made by the team the previous year.

Binotto will now strive for success with the German giants, who acquired Sauber earlier this year. The extensive knowledge of the 54-year-old will greatly benefit Audi in their pursuit of excellence in the pinnacle of motor racing.
