Carlos Sainz Endorses Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari Move: “Their Title Chances Just Went Up”

Carlos Sainz might have been pushed out of Ferrari to make way for Lewis Hamilton, but there’s no bitterness in his assessment—just cold, hard logic.

The Spanish racer, who now finds himself at Williams, is convinced that Hamilton’s arrival at Ferrari in 2025 will only enhance their chances of winning a championship—a feat the Scuderia has been chasing since 2007.

Sainz: Ferrari Was Already Close—Now They Have a Seven-Time Champion

Ferrari came agonizingly close to ending its title drought last season, falling just 14 points short against McLaren. With Hamilton—a seven-time world champion—joining Charles Leclerc in Maranello, Sainz believes Ferrari’s title aspirations are now stronger than ever.

“I can only say when I left Ferrari, I did feel the team, both Ferrari and Charles, were ready to fight for a World Championship. With Lewis joining, that chance is only going to increase.”

But Can a 40-Year-Old Hamilton Deliver?

Despite Hamilton’s pedigree, doubts linger. At 40 years old and coming off a challenging stint at Mercedes, there are concerns about whether he can adapt quickly and still perform at his peak.

Sainz acknowledges the uncertainty but remains confident in Hamilton’s ability:

“I’ve never been teammates with Lewis, so I don’t know what he’s capable of doing. I’ve seen Charles and I know how good Charles is, but when I judge by results and his background, I can only say there’s a very high chance he’s going to be competitive in Ferrari.”

The key factor, according to Sainz? Adaptability.

“It will all depend on how well he can adapt to a car, how well he can adapt to a team, and in which moment is your teammate in.”

Ferrari’s Best Shot in Years?

Sainz’s endorsement adds another layer of intrigue to Ferrari’s upcoming campaign. Leclerc is already a proven force, and with Hamilton bringing a wealth of title-winning experience, Ferrari’s 2025 package could be its best shot in nearly two decades.

One thing’s certain—Hamilton’s Ferrari era will be nothing short of electrifying. 🚀🔴
