Carlos Sainz acredita que sua decisão de se mudar em 2025 será crucial para determinar seu destino sob as regulamentações imprevisíveis de 2026.

Carlos Sainz has been practicing his profession at Ferrari since 2021. The discussion surrounding Sainz’s team for the 2025 season onwards has been a hot topic this season. Despite having opportunities to secure a place at Williams or Audi, the 29-year-old driver has chosen to take a long-term approach and has not yet made any confirmations. Recently, Sainz broke the silence and brought some clarity on the matter.

After unexpectedly being dropped from Ferrari before the start of the 2024 season, Sainz found himself in a desperate situation. He was considered for positions in high-quality teams such as Red Bull and Mercedes, among others. However, despite the offers, the three-time race winner did not accept any of them. Sainz believes that the 2025 season is as crucial as the 2026 season for him.

The reason behind this is Sainz’s belief that the 2026 season will be like a “lottery.” Even if the move to a new team in 2025 does not prove advantageous, he wants to have control over the following season, under the new regulations. Furthermore, the 29-year-old driver has raised doubts about the top teams’ ability to stand out under the new regulations.

With the new regulations set to come into effect in 2026, Red Bull’s current dominance in the ground effect era is expected to disappear. Furthermore, the departure of [Driver’s Name] from the team has further reinforced this notion. Sainz considers it “impossible” to predict which team will come out on top in the 2026 season.

Sainz also highlighted that it is evident where most drivers will end up in the 2025 season. However, for him, this holds greater significance compared to other drivers on the grid. The 29-year-old driver emphasized that his performances in the upcoming season will be equally important for the following seasons.

Although Sainz had a good start to the 2024 season, which could have helped build an impressive resume, Red Bull has already extended their contract with [Pilot’s Name], while Mercedes is also making moves to potentially secure [Pilot’s Name]. As a result, Williams and Audi remain the most viable options for Sainz to join in the 2025 season.
