Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc crash in F1 standings: how Ferrari stars faltered dramatically

Title: Shock and Disappointment: Sainz and Leclerc Crumble as F1 Data Reveals 2025’s Biggest Point Drops!

In a dramatic twist for Formula 1 fans, the latest analysis of driver performance from the 2024 to 2025 seasons has unveiled startling revelations. Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, once shining stars of the Ferrari team, have now been labeled as the biggest casualties on the grid. The statistics are staggering, showcasing a catastrophic decline in their performance compared to the previous season.

In 2024, both Sainz and Leclerc were poised for greatness, amassing impressive point totals of 290 and 356 respectively, narrowly missing out on the constructors’ championship to McLaren. However, the 2025 season has been nothing short of a disaster for these once-promising talents.

Sainz’s journey took a dramatic turn when he departed Ferrari following the arrival of Lewis Hamilton, only to find himself at Williams. The transition started slowly, leaving fans questioning his decision as he struggled alongside teammate Alex Albon. Nevertheless, the Spaniard managed to rally in the latter half of the season, securing two podium finishes. Despite this resurgence, Sainz’s total dropped to a mere 63 points—his lowest since the grim days of 2018 with Renault when he only scored 53 points. This represents a jaw-dropping loss of 226 points year-on-year, leaving fans and critics alike in disbelief.

Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc’s struggles continued unabated. The Monegasque driver found himself winless in 2025, desperately trying to regain the form that had seen him claim three grand prix victories in 2024. This year, he could only scrape together 242 points, suffering a significant decline of 114 points. The once-renowned duo’s fall from grace has been nothing short of shocking, as they grapple with an F1 landscape that seems to have left them behind.

In stark contrast to their misfortune, Oscar Piastri emerged as the star of the season, skyrocketing his performance with a staggering increase of 118 points compared to last year. With seven grand prix victories under his belt—five more than his previous tally—Piastri’s success is a bright beacon amid the darkness of Sainz and Leclerc’s struggles.

The rookie sensation Kimi Antonelli also deserves a mention, finishing an impressive seventh in the championship with 150 points and three podiums. His performance stands as a testament to the fresh talent shaking up the grid in a season that has been otherwise filled with disappointment for the former Ferrari teammates.

As fans dissect these shocking statistics, one thing is clear: the 2025 F1 season has reshaped the narrative for Sainz and Leclerc, turning them from potential champions to cautionary tales. The burning question remains: can they reclaim their glory, or is this the beginning of a long, painful decline? The world of motorsport watches with bated breath as the saga unfolds.
