Edgar Canet wasted absolutely no time making his mark at the highest level of rally-raid competition.
In his very first appearance in RallyGP, the KTM factory rider delivered a statement performance, claiming his maiden RallyGP stage win and instantly shaking up the order. Canet stopped the clocks three seconds faster than teammate Daniel Sanders and five seconds clear of Honda rival Ricky Brabec, underlining a debut that could hardly have been more emphatic.
The young KTM rider combined raw speed with composure, executing a near-perfect stage built on precision rather than risk.
After the finish, Canet made it clear that control — not desperation — was the key to his breakthrough:
“I’m super happy with my rhythm. I was following 100% the road book. I braked before the dangers, I avoided other risks. I was super fast and super happy with this feeling. It’s the best way to start the rally.”
A first RallyGP start.
A first RallyGP stage win.
And a message sent to the entire field.
Edgar Canet has arrived — and he’s done it the hard way: by beating the best, on pure execution.
