The National Road Safety Authority (ANSR), the GNR and the PSP launch on Thursday, February 1st, the campaign to alert to the risks of driving under the influence of alcohol, which includes operations in various locations throughout the country.
The “Zero Alcohol at the Wheel” campaign, which runs until February 7th, will include awareness actions by the ANSR, enforcement operations by the GNR and the PSP, “with a special focus on roads and access points with high traffic flow, in order to contribute to the reduction of the risk of accidents and the adoption of safer behaviors by drivers regarding driving under the influence of alcohol.”
“In 2022, two out of every five drivers killed in traffic accidents had a blood alcohol level of 0.5 g/l or higher, and three out of every four of these drivers had a level of 1.2 g/l or higher.”, states the ANSR statement.
The “Zero Alcohol at the Wheel” campaign will include an awareness component carried out by the ANSR, as well as by the GNR and the PSP. The awareness actions will take place simultaneously with enforcement operations in the following locations:
February 1st, at 13:30: Avenida Marginal, Rotunda da Universidade Nova School of Business & Economics – Carcavelos Campus;
February 7th, at 09:30: EN377-1 – Rotunda da Faculdade, Monte da Caparica.
