The National Road Safety Authority (ANSR), the GNR and the PSP launch on Tuesday, October 31, the campaign to raise awareness of the risks of driving under the influence of alcohol, which includes operations in various locations across the country.
The “Zero Alcohol Limit at the Wheel” campaign, which runs until November 6, will include awareness actions by the ANSR, enforcement operations by the GNR and the PSP, “with a special focus on roads and access points with high traffic flow.”
“One in three drivers killed in traffic accidents has a blood alcohol level of 0.5 g/l or higher, and of these drivers, three in four have a level of 1.2 g/l or higher,” the ANSR statement said.
The “Zero Alcohol Limit at the Wheel” campaign will include an awareness component carried out by the ANSR, as well as by the GNR and the PSP. The awareness actions will take place simultaneously with enforcement operations in the following locations:
November 1, at 01:30: EN-10 Access to the Carla Sacramento Athletics Track, Amora;
November 1, at 03:00: Roundabout access to A21 – Ericeira;
November 2, at 20:00: Rua da Trindade, Porto;
November 3, at 16:00: EN333 – Soza and EM591-2 – Ponte da Vagueira, Aveiro;
November 6, at 21:00: Largo de Camões, Faro.
