Who Will Drive for General Motors’ Cadillac F1 Team in 2026?

Cadillac’s Grand Entry into F1: Miami GP to Host Intense Driver Negotiations for 2026 Debut

As the automotive world anticipates Cadillac’s grand entrance into Formula 1 in 2026, the race is on to secure the best drivers for the iconic American brand. With the Miami Grand Prix around the corner, General Motors is gearing up to finalize their driver lineup in one of the most anticipated racing debuts in recent history.

While the official driver announcement is still pending, the buzz around potential candidates has set the F1 community abuzz. Among the names making headlines is former Red Bull driver Sergio Perez, a seasoned veteran eager to make a comeback. With 281 races under his belt, Perez expressed his openness to the right opportunity, stating, “I’m only coming back if the project makes sense, and it’s something I can enjoy.”

Another contender in the mix is American driver Colton Herta, a rising star whom Cadillac is eyeing to add a local flair to their team. Team Principal Graeme Lowdon emphasized the importance of merit-based hiring while considering American talent, setting the stage for an intense selection process.

Valtteri Bottas, the current Mercedes reserve driver and a ten-time race winner, is also rumored to be on Cadillac’s radar. His experience and success on the track make him a formidable candidate for the new team looking to make a statement in their inaugural season.

Adding an international flavor to the mix is Zhou Guanyu, a talented Chinese driver with a hunger for success in F1. Managed by Lowdon in the past, Zhou’s familiarity with the team’s leadership could give him an edge in the driver selection process.

With the stakes high and anticipation building, all eyes are on Cadillac as they prepare to shake up the F1 grid in 2026. The Miami Grand Prix promises to be a pivotal moment for the team as they lay the groundwork for a successful debut season in the pinnacle of motorsport.
