Cadillac’s F1 Headquarters on Hendrick Motorsports Land? A New Era for American Racing Begins

Who Will Drive for General Motors’ Cadillac F1 Team in 2026?

Rick Hendrick has been a General Motors loyalist from day one—so much so that when GM faced bankruptcy in 2009, he refused to jump ship, famously stating:

“My Plan A is Chevrolet, my Plan B is Chevrolet, and my Plan C is Chevrolet.”

Fast forward to 2026, and GM is stepping into the world’s most elite motorsport—Formula 1. And when Cadillac needed a home base for their F1 operations, where else would they turn but Hendrick?

Cadillac F1 at Hendrick Motorsports—A Game Changer?

🚨 Breaking News: GM’s Cadillac F1 project could be housed on 10 acres of Hendrick Motorsports property in Concord, North Carolina.

  • Jenna Fryer (AP) dropped the bombshell on X:

“The City of Concord has a scheduled meeting on 2/13 and among the agenda items is a proposed Cadillac F1 facility on 10 acres of Hendrick Motorsports property. The proposal is going to be budgeted between $65M and $70M to develop a 204,045-square-foot building.”

🏁 What This Means:
✅ A Cadillac Formula 1 headquarters alongside one of NASCAR’s most dominant teams.
✅ Crossovers between NASCAR and F1 technology? (A real possibility.)
✅ The first-ever shared campus for stock cars and open-wheel racing in the U.S.

Could Kyle Larson End Up in an F1 Car?

The ultimate dream scenario—what if Hendrick Cars sponsors Cadillac F1, and suddenly, we see Kyle Larson behind the wheel of an F1 machine?

🔥 Larson vs. Max Verstappen in Formula 1? Imagine the showdown of all showdowns.

It’s far from confirmed, but Larson’s Indy 500 ambitions show that he’s open to open-wheel racing. With Hendrick and GM backing Cadillac F1, this could be the best shot for an American star to break into F1 since Michael Andretti’s brief stint in 1993.

Could This Bring Cadillac to NASCAR?

With the Chevrolet Camaro now out of production, NASCAR fans are wondering—what’s next?

If Cadillac F1 is setting up at Hendrick, could this be the first step toward Cadillac entering NASCAR? Maybe we see a Cadillac CTS-V stock car replacing Chevy’s next-gen entry.

Hendrick could be the key player in bringing Cadillac into NASCAR, just like he’s helping GM’s F1 expansion.

The Big Question: Will Formula 1 Approve the Location?

Before we get too ahead of ourselves, F1 has strict regulations about race shop operations:

📌 An F1 facility “cannot run other racing programs out of the shop that houses their F1 program.”

So, even though Hendrick Motorsports and Cadillac F1 would be separate operations, their close proximity might raise F1’s eyebrows. The decision will likely come down to the specifics of how the two facilities are structured.

Final Verdict: A Massive Power Play for American Racing

Regardless of whether F1 officially approves the Concord site, one thing is clear—GM is making a serious push into Formula 1, and Hendrick Motorsports is playing a major role in the brand’s future.

💭 Could this be the first step toward an American motorsports empire where NASCAR and F1 exist side by side?

The City of Concord meets on February 13, and we’ll soon find out if Cadillac F1 will officially call Hendrick’s backyard home.

🚀 One thing’s for sure—big things are happening in Concord!
