Cadillac’s F1 Dream Team: Perez and Bottas in the Lead

The motorsport world is abuzz with rumors and speculations as Cadillac, the new F1 entry co-owned by TWG Global and General Motors, is in talks with multiple potential drivers for the 2026 season. Among the top contenders for a seat are Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, both seasoned F1 drivers with impressive track records.

Despite facing delays in their preparations due to a lengthy approval process from F1, Cadillac is pushing full steam ahead to finalize their driver lineup, car design, and other crucial aspects before hitting the grid next year. Reports suggest that discussions with Perez have progressed significantly, with some even claiming a deal has been sealed. However, team principal Graeme Lowdon refutes such claims, emphasizing that the process is still ongoing.

Perez, a six-time F1 race winner, is eager for a comeback following his departure from Red Bull in 2024. His experience and technical expertise could prove invaluable to Cadillac as they gear up for their debut season. Bottas, another seasoned driver with ten grand prix wins under his belt, is also on Cadillac’s radar as they aim to field a competitive lineup.

In addition to Perez and Bottas, other drivers like Zhou Guanyu, Mick Schumacher, and Colton Herta are reportedly being considered for a seat at Cadillac. Lowdon remains tight-lipped about specific targets but stresses the importance of finding drivers who align with the team’s vision and values.

While there was initial emphasis on having an American driver, Cadillac’s focus is now on recruiting the best talent regardless of nationality. Lowdon underscores the need for merit-based selection in a world championship like F1, where competitiveness is paramount. Despite the allure of having an American driver in an American team, the ultimate goal for Cadillac is to assemble a winning team capable of dominating the sport.

As the negotiations heat up and anticipation builds, F1 fans around the world are eagerly awaiting the official announcement of Cadillac’s driver lineup for the 2026 season. With powerhouse drivers like Perez and Bottas in the mix, Cadillac’s entry into the F1 arena promises to be nothing short of spectacular.
