In a groundbreaking development that has sent shockwaves through the motorsport world, Cadillac has announced its foray into Formula 1 with the unveiling of its in-house engine set to debut in 2029. The American team is gearing up for its F1 debut next season, with a recent extravagant launch party held at the Miami Grand Prix to mark the occasion.

While initially planning to use Ferrari power units, Cadillac’s focus has already shifted towards developing its own engines, with General Motors president Mark Reuss confirming the exciting progress. Speaking at the Miami launch event, Reuss revealed, “With regard to the power unit, development is already well underway. In fact, we fired up our first engine last week.”

The team’s dedication to innovation and excellence is further highlighted by their advanced wind tunnel work and strategic personnel hires. Despite their PU facility not being fully operational yet, Cadillac has made significant strides in the early stages of development, showcasing their commitment to success in the elite racing world.

With notable names like Mick Schumacher and Sergio Perez on their radar, alongside Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou, Cadillac is poised to assemble a formidable lineup that could shake up the F1 grid.
