McLaren Superstar Shuts Down Cadillac F1 Rumors!

In a shocking turn of events, IndyCar and McLaren sensation Pato O’Ward has set the record straight regarding the swirling rumors connecting him to a potential Cadillac F1 seat. The 11th F1 team recently made headlines with a grand event at the Miami Grand Prix, unveiling their new team look and sparking speculations about their 2026 driver lineup. Amidst the frenzy, O’Ward has unequivocally denied his involvement in the race for the final two grid spots, quashing any hopes of him joining the Cadillac team.

During an interview with F1 paddock photographer Kym Illman, O’Ward dismissed the rumors with gusto, stating, “Everyone kept saying Cadillac! You and Checo. And I was like, you know what, I’m going to add some logs to the fire, and I’m going to poke them. That was just me having fun with it, there’s been no contact at all. No contact.” While fans may have speculated about a potential all-Mexican team in F1, O’Ward made it clear that such talks were premature.

Despite O’Ward ruling himself out of the Cadillac contention, all eyes are now on Mexican driver Sergio Perez, who remains a frontrunner for a spot in the team. Team executive Mario Andretti previously hinted at their interest in Perez, setting the stage for a potential blockbuster move. However, Perez is not short of suitors, as two other F1 teams are reportedly vying for his signature, intensifying the competition.

In the midst of the Cadillac frenzy, another name that has surfaced is that of Mick Schumacher, eyeing a potential comeback to F1 with the iconic team. Schumacher’s presence at the team’s Miami launch further fueled speculation about his future in the sport, with veteran Sebastian Vettel throwing his support behind the young German driver for a Cadillac seat, adding another layer of intrigue to the unfolding saga.

As the F1 rumor mill continues to churn, the landscape for the 2026 season grows increasingly captivating, with drivers jostling for coveted spots and fans eagerly anticipating the final lineup announcements. Stay tuned as the Cadillac F1 saga unfolds, promising twists and turns as the countdown to the new season begins.
