BYD continues to focus on diversifying its range of electrified models in Europe, and in this sense, it is preparing to launch three new plug-in hybrids and three electric vehicles in 2025.
The Chinese company, which ranked second in global electric vehicle sales at the end of the second quarter, continues to grow in the European market, where it arrived in 2022. It recently launched the Seal U and now reveals that plug-in hybrid models play a crucial role in the brand’s growth in Europe.
In an interview with “Autocar“, BYD President Stella Li revealed that plug-in hybrid models, such as the Seal U DM-i, are gaining importance as an entry point to electrification, as drivers still show a high level of caution when it comes to purchasing 100% electric models. “Many people want to try electric cars, but currently, range anxiety makes them hesitant. These vehicles are the solution. Furthermore, our data shows that ordinary people use plug-in hybrids as their first experience with electric models”.
