The BYD Sealion 7 achieved the highest safety rating of five stars in the latest round of tests conducted by the independent organization Euro NCAP.
The Sealion 7 scored particularly well in the two areas focused on occupant protection, notably achieving a rating of 93% for child protection, while adult protection was rated at 87%. For this protection assessment, Euro NCAP highlighted the good protection against whiplash in the event of a collision, noting strong performance in the side barrier test and the severe side impact assessment with a pole.
The report also credits the Child Presence Detection (CPD) system, which issues a warning when it detects that a child or baby has been left in the vehicle.
In terms of protection for more vulnerable road users, the rating was 76%, and regarding the assistance and safety system, the Sealion 7 received a rating of 79%.

It is important to note that the Sealion 7 is based on BYD’s latest generation vehicle architecture, known as e-Platform 3.0, which integrates a Blade Battery and Cell-to-Body technology.
The model is available in the national market in two trim levels, with the entry-level version, Comfort, equipped with an electric motor producing 308 hp and 380 Nm of torque, powered by an 82.5 kWh battery. This allows for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, a top speed of 215 km/h, and a range of 482 km.

On the other hand, the Excellence variant is equipped with two electric motors and all-wheel drive, utilizing an additional motor with 215 hp on the front axle to ensure a combined power of 523 hp and 690 Nm of torque. In this version, the top speed remains at 215 km/h, but the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 4.5 seconds.
Both electric motors are powered by a 91.3 kWh capacity battery, which allows for a claimed range of up to 502 km.
