BYD is preparing to launch a new sedan, the Seal 08, which has now been spotted testing in China.
The images revealed by “CarNewsChina” show that the new sedan follows the Ocean-S design concept, the same as other models from the brand, with a front section that stays true to the original concept, maintaining the grille-less layout, slim LED headlights, and curved daytime running lights, along with a sloping hood that contributes to a low profile for the model.

Additionally, the new Seal 08 is equipped with LiDAR units installed on the roof, indicating the inclusion of advanced driver assistance systems.
The most significant changes are noted on the sides, where, unlike the suicide doors and camera mirrors of the concept, this test model of the Seal 08 features conventional door handles and exterior rearview mirrors.

Everything indicates that the Seal 08 will be equipped with a fifth-generation DM-i hybrid system from BYD and will incorporate the brand’s 800 V e-Platform 3.0 Evo architecture. This configuration could support faster charging through a dual-port system and accommodate batteries of up to 100 kWh, although the final specifications have not been confirmed.
