The Chinese company BYD, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of batteries and electric vehicles, is aggressively expanding in Europe. But if there were any doubts about the seriousness of this endeavor, the ongoing launch program gives a clear idea of its growth potential. After the recent revelations of the Dolphin and the Seal, BYD has just confirmed a new model, the Sea Lion, the third electric vehicle in the Ocean series, inspired by marine themes.
Revealed, for now, only through a set of drawings created by the design studio led by Wolfgang Egger, former Audi and Lamborghini designer, the Sea Lion stands out for its trendy SUV coupe shape, with a more pronounced roof curve towards the rear. The new model in BYD’s electric range, which is expected to be more compact than the Seal, a four-door electric sedan that competes with the Tesla Model 3, will be officially presented on November 17th at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China.
