BYD has revealed the first images of the pickup truck that is expected to hit the Chinese market in May and later on global markets.
In the newly released images, the BYD pickup truck, which will have two variants, a plug-in hybrid and a 100% electric one, appears with orange and blue camouflage, LED signature lighting, muscular bumpers, and a double cab.
Little is known about this new BYD proposal, which in the plug-in hybrid version is expected to have a range of about 1000 km. In electric mode, the range of the new Chinese brand pickup truck is expected to be around 100 km.
As for the 100% electric version, it is still a mystery, but everything points to it using high-capacity Blade batteries and having a version equipped with two electric motors for better off-road performance.
One thing is for sure, the BYD pickup truck aims to compete in a segment that already includes models like the Ford Ranger and F-150 Lightning, as well as the Toyota Hilux and Tesla’s Cybertruck.
