BYD has just taken a decisive step in the technological race of electric vehicles by introducing the Denza Z9GT in Europe, the first model on the continent capable of utilizing the ultrafast charging system “Flash”.

Charging in minutes is no longer a promise

The new Denza Z9GT can go from 10% to 70% in about 5 minutes and reach 97% in less than 10 minutes, figures that redefine the concept of electric charging.

Even in extreme conditions, such as temperatures of -30°C, the model maintains impressive performance, with nearly full charges in about 12 minutes.

Technology that challenges current standards

These figures place the model well above the market average:

  • typical charging: 25 to 40 minutes (10%-80%)
  • current best models: about 20 minutes

The technology is based on a new generation of Blade LFP battery and chargers with a capacity of up to 1.5 MW, allowing speeds never seen before in Europe.

High autonomy and top performance

The Z9GT combines this capability with competitive autonomy:

  • up to 600 km (WLTP) in the most powerful version
  • up to 800 km (WLTP) in the rear-wheel drive version

The most powerful version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, clearly positioning itself in the high-performance segment.

Infrastructure will be decisive

To support this technology, BYD plans to install 3,000 Flash charging stations in Europe over the next 12 months.

These stations use a combination of the electrical grid and stationary batteries to ensure the necessary power supply.

Price places it in the premium segment

Innovation comes at a cost: the Denza Z9GT arrives in the European market with a starting price of 115,000 euros, positioning itself directly against models like the Porsche Taycan.

Although it is significantly cheaper in China, factors such as tariffs and premium positioning raise the price in Europe.

More than fast charging

In addition to the charging technology, the model includes:

  • cooled compartment for drinks
  • digital mirrors
  • advanced maneuvering system with rear wheel rotation

A turning point in the adoption of electric vehicles

The ability to charge a vehicle in less than 10 minutes can reduce one of the main barriers to the adoption of electric vehicles: charging time.

Although still limited to premium models, this technology could, over time, reach more accessible segments.
