A BYD, the Chinese manufacturer of new energy vehicles (EV and PHEV) and electric batteries, intends to build a network of megawatt charging stations for electric cars in Europe.
The announcement was made by the company’s vice president, Stella Li, and BYD plans to build in Europe a charging network known as “Megawatt Flash Chargers,” already available in the Chinese market. The timeline for the construction of the new charging system has been set for the next twelve months, although Stella Li did not provide details on the number of charging stations of this type to be installed in Europe.
“This will be a revolutionary innovation that will increase consumer confidence in electric mobility”, said the vice president of BYD. It is already known that the Chinese brand plans to install its own charging stations at its dealerships, and is currently in negotiations with local partners for this purpose.
It should be noted that in China, BYD has an extensive network of megawatt charging stations and has plans for its expansion. According to “Electrive,” the company currently operates around 500 chargers of this type in more than 200 cities.
