Bulega define o ritmo, Razgatlioglu cai nos treinos do WorldSBK em Misano.

Nicolo Bulega, a sensational rookie in the World Superbike championship for Aruba.it Racing – Ducati, thrilled his fans in Misano on Friday afternoon. During Free Practice 2, Bulega set the fastest time of 1:33.511s, leaving second-placed Alvaro Bautista trailing by 0.402s. This impressive performance resulted in a one-two finish for the Ducati factory team.

As the riders prepared for Race 1 on Saturday and Race 2 on Sunday, the Friday session was crucial for them to assess their readiness for the upcoming races. They focused on completing long runs to evaluate their race pace. However, some riders encountered difficulties during the session. Sam Lowes, a newcomer to the World Superbike championship for Marc VDS Ducati, suffered a crash at Turn 5 but managed to continue. Andrea Locatelli, riding for the Pata Prometeon Yamaha team, also lost control and damaged his fairing at Turn 4.

Toprak Razgatlioglu, representing ROKiT BMW Motorrad, had a particularly unfortunate incident. With 20 minutes remaining in the session, he lost control of his M 1000 RR at Turn 16. This crash ended his chances of improving his time in FP2 as he had pushed too hard on a new set of tires. After returning to the pit box, Razgatlioglu expressed dissatisfaction with the front end of his BMW, prompting his mechanics to make adjustments to his setup.

Danilo Petrucci, riding for the Barni Racing Ducati team, made a late appearance in FP2, waiting until the last 16 minutes to take to the track. Petrucci, who was recovering from injuries sustained in a motocross incident in April, showed remarkable determination despite feeling fatigued. He underwent surgery to repair a broken jaw and collarbone, which forced him to miss the third round of the World Superbike championship in Assen. However, he managed to secure the 12th fastest time.

Throughout the session, Bulega maintained his position at the top of the timesheet. As the session came to an end, he consistently set fast laps, further extending his lead. His teammate and reigning world champion, Alvaro Bautista, motivated him by closely following in second place. However, Bautista was unable to challenge Bulega’s dominance.

Bulega’s impressive performances continue to impress in his debut season in the World Superbike championship.

GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK rider Remy Gardner delivered an impressive performance. Gardner, who achieved his first podium in Assen, continued to stand out in Misano. He recorded the third fastest time, completing a lap in 1:33.921s on his YZF R1.

Andrea Iannone, of the GoEleven Ducati team, also showcased his skills by securing a place among the top five for the second consecutive session. He completed a lap in 1:33.960s on his Panigale V4R in Misano.

Despite a fall early in the session, Toprak Razgatlioglu managed to maintain his position among the top five. His lap time of 1:34.221s ensured his presence on the leaderboard. It is important to highlight that his time in FP1 remained the fastest of the day, leading to speculation that he could have led FP2 if he had not fallen from his M 1000 RR motorcycle.

Iker Lecuona impressed in sixth place, riding the Honda CBR1000 RR-R for Team HRC. He worked well with the new balance of his Japanese bike and recorded a lap time of 1:34.222s.

The Lowes twins, Alex and Sam, followed closely. Alex, riding for Kawasaki, completed a lap in 1:34.287s, while Sam recovered from an initial setback to finish as the eighth fastest, with a time of 1:34.382s.

The top-10 was completed by Dominique Aegerter from GRT Yamaha (1:34.384s) and Michael Ruben Rinaldi from the Motocorsa team (1:34.417s).
