Nicolo’ Bulega – R04 Misano Adriatico (ITA) – FP2, Ducati Corse Media
The Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team secured a second consecutive one-two in Saturday’s practice session in Misano. Nicolo Bulega led the way, with reigning WorldSBK champion Alvaro Bautista close behind. Bulega’s time of 1:33.114s was just 0.11s faster than his teammate, while Remy Gardner of GYTR GRT Yamaha impressed with a third-place finish, setting a lap time of 1:33.332s.
Free Practice 3 was the final opportunity for riders to prepare before the crucial Superpole session on Saturday. They had a short 20-minute window to find that extra speed around the Misano circuit.
Michele Pirro, test rider for Aruba.it Racing – Ducati, had a challenging session, suffering a minor crash. Unfortunately, he couldn’t match the performance of his full-time teammates. On the other hand, Andrea Iannone, riding for GoEleven Ducati, continued his strong performance and secured the fourth fastest time with a lap of 1:33.343s.
Toprak Razgatlioglu of ROKiT BMW Motorrad completed the top five, recording a time of 1:33.369s, 0.255s behind Bulega. It was a positive session for the GRT team as Dominique Aegerter joined Gardner among the top ten.
Garrett Gerloff also had a much better session compared to Friday. The American rider finished seventh on his Bonovo Action BMW, clocking a time of 1:33.619s around the Misano circuit. Kawasaki’s Alex Lowes closely followed with a time of 1:33.886s on his ZX-10RR. Michael van der Mark put three BMWs among the top ten with the ninth fastest time (1:34.015s).
Sam Lowes guaranteed another place in the top ten, setting the best time of 1:34.036s on the Marc VDS Ducati, 0.922s behind the leader. The action of WorldSBK in Misano will continue with the Superpole session at 11:00 local time.
