Damian Lillard received a warm welcome from Trail Blazers fans during his return to Portland. Despite the Milwaukee Bucks’ 119-116 loss, Lillard expressed his appreciation for the support he received. As the best player in franchise history, it was only fitting for Portland to embrace him with open arms.
During the game, Lillard showcased his skills, putting up 25 points, six rebounds, and seven assists in 40 minutes. He played like the prime Lillard, giving his all to help Milwaukee secure a victory. Although they fell short, Trail Blazers fans were happy to see their former star point guard in action.
It’s refreshing to see a fanbase show such appreciation for a former player. In some cases, players are met with boos when they return to face their former team. However, this was not the case for Lillard’s homecoming in Portland.
This season, the Trail Blazers have struggled, currently ranking among the worst teams in the league. On the other hand, the Bucks sit atop the Eastern Conference. Lillard is now on a quest for a championship alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo. Only time will reveal if they can achieve their goal and be crowned champions.
