In a shocking turn of events, NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace Jr. faced a brutal setback at the Great American Getaway 400 race in Pocono, leaving fans and teammates stunned. Co-owner Denny Hamlin of the 23XI Racing team, which Wallace races for, stepped up to take full responsibility for the unfortunate outcome, praising Wallace’s unwavering attitude amidst the challenges.

The 31-year-old driver endured a weekend filled with car troubles, starting with a disappointing qualifying session that pushed him to start from the back of the grid in 33rd place. The misery continued during the main race as Wallace’s car suffered a right front tire blowout, caused by brake issues, ultimately leading to a race-ending crash into the wall on Lap 55.

Despite the string of disappointments, Denny Hamlin commended Wallace for his positive mindset, stating, “He’s making our job a lot easier; it’s on us to step up for him at this point.” This marks the fifth time in the last eight races that Wallace has finished outside the top ten, highlighting the challenging season he has been facing.

Following the race, Wallace shared insights into a conversation he had with basketball legend and team co-owner Michael Jordan, who emphasized taking control of their luck rather than succumbing to “bad luck.” Currently ranked 12th in the NASCAR Cup Series standings with 412 points, Wallace remains optimistic about delivering a strong performance in the upcoming race at Atlanta, aiming to turn the tide in his favor.

The Great American Getaway 400 race weekend also saw setbacks for other 23XI Racing team members, with Riley Herbst and Tyler Reddick facing their own challenges, adding to the overall disappointment for the team. As Wallace navigates through this rough patch, all eyes are on his resilience and determination to overcome adversity on the track.
