He was suspended due to a physical confrontation involving a driver from 23XI Racing during a regular competition meeting between JGR and 23XI drivers. The incident occurred a month before the Charlotte race weekend, and as a result of the suspension, Almirola, who was deemed the instigator by JGR, was replaced for that week’s race.
