Hamilton’s Journey: Adapting to Ferrari’s Formula 1 Car After 12 Seasons with Mercedes

In a startling forecast for the upcoming F1 2025 season, former F1 pilot and current analyst Martin Brundle backs Lewis Hamilton to triumph multiple times with Ferrari. This bold prophecy comes as the F1 community eagerly anticipates the forthcoming season.

Hamilton, who has been the center of attention in the lead-up to the new season, is determined to revive his quest for an unprecedented eighth World Championship. This ambition is fueled by his unexpected switch from Mercedes to Ferrari. The move has sparked skepticism, especially after his disappointing defeat to ex-Mercedes teammate George Russell in both the 2024 race and qualifying face-offs. The qualifying duels were a particular source of concern, with Russell overpowering Hamilton 19-5.

Notwithstanding these setbacks, Brundle stands in full support with Hamilton, asserting that Hamilton’s distinguished racing skills will see him ascend to the highest podium spot in Ferrari’s iconic red color. Brundle firmly stated, “My fearless forecast for this season is that Lewis Hamilton will clinch victory in more than one Ferrari race.”

As part of the Sky F1 team, Brundle was accompanied by numerous fellow F1 experts, including lead commentator David Croft and pit-lane correspondent Ted Kravitz. They were joined by Formula One legends, 2016 World Champion Nico Rosberg and 1997 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve amongst others.

Kravitz echoed similar sentiments about multiple race winners, conjecturing that “eight drivers will taste victory” in the F1 2025 season. With McLaren, Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes all vying for the title, the season promises to be a fierce competition.

In a season where many regard McLaren’s Lando Norris as the title favorite, Croft is throwing his weight behind Norris’s teammate Oscar Piastri. Croft predicts that the Australian will “secure victory in six or more grand prix events.”

When it came to choosing their World Champion predictions, Sky F1’s cast overwhelmingly selected Norris, who garnered six votes, including one from Rosberg. Norris is tipped to secure his maiden title in F1 2025. Defending four-time champion Max Verstappen trailed with just two votes. Charles Leclerc, Hamilton’s teammate at Ferrari, was the only other driver to receive a vote, courtesy of Williams development driver Jamie Chadwick. Surprisingly, not a single Sky F1 contributor envisaged Hamilton capturing that record eighth World title in F1 2025.

In terms of the Constructors’ title, the battle is anticipated to be tightly contested between McLaren and Ferrari. The majority, however, sided with McLaren, tipping them for a 7-3 victory and their second consecutive Constructors’ Championship win. This prediction speaks volumes about the fierce competition anticipated in the upcoming season.
