This is certainly not the most common way to celebrate a wedding anniversary, but it is undoubtedly one of the most original, especially for car enthusiasts. A British couple, Derek and Audrey Evans, aged 92 and 94, respectively, decided to celebrate the 70th anniversary of their union with the purchase of a Macan, their first Porsche.
Both acknowledge that, although they are not fans of high speeds, they appreciate the “feeling of power and comfort”. The purchase of their new Porsche, at such an advanced stage of life, is, in a way, they admit, a new confirmation of the “adventurous spirit” that has always defined them, and the ideal way to celebrate such a beautiful occasion.
Although the purchase is recent, and according to the couple’s statements, several trips with the new Macan are already planned, Derek did not hide his enthusiasm when driving the Taycan, Porsche’s 100% electric model, a brand he claims to have always appreciated for being “unique, different from everything else”, thus justifying the decision to purchase for this absolutely unprecedented celebration.
