Brad Pitt’s F1 film revs up momentum with two Critics’ Choice Awards wins!

Brad Pitt’s F1 Film Dominates Critics’ Choice Awards, Boosting Oscar Hopes!

In a stunning display of cinematic excellence, Brad Pitt’s electrifying F1 film has roared into the spotlight, clinching not one, but two prestigious Critics’ Choice Awards on January 4, 2026! Directed by the visionary Joseph Kosinski and produced by the legendary Jerry Bruckheimer, this blockbuster has officially put itself on the map with victories in the categories of Best Sound and Best Editing.

The accolades were well-deserved, with the sound team—comprising Al Nelson, Gwendolyn Yates Whittle, Gary A. Rizzo, Juan Peralta, and Gareth John—triumphing over formidable contenders including the sound wizards from “Frankenstein” and “One Battle After Another.” In the editing arena, Stephen Mirrione outshined heavyweights like Kirk Baxter and the duo Ronald Bronstein and Josh Safdie, proving that the film’s technical prowess is as thrilling as its high-octane narrative.

But the triumphs don’t stop there! The F1 movie was also nominated for an astounding five additional categories: Best Stunt Design, Best Score, Best Song, Best Cinematography, and Best Visual Effects, solidifying its status as a serious contender in this year’s awards circuit.

Since its explosive release in June 2025, the film has raced past the $630 million mark at the global box office, boasting an impressive 97% public rating and an 82% professional rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Clearly, audiences and critics alike are raving about this cinematic gem!

At the heart of the film is Brad Pitt, who brilliantly portrays Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 driver making a dramatic comeback with the fictional Apex APXGP team. Teaming up with rookie sensation Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris, Hayes faces the daunting challenge of clinching victory in the final nine races of the season. The film features a stellar cast, including the talented Javier Bardem as Hayes’ former teammate Rubén Cervantes, alongside notable actors like Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, and Kerry Condon. Adding to the film’s authenticity, real-life F1 champions, including the seven-time titleholder Lewis Hamilton, not only appear in the film but also serve as an executive producer.

With such resounding success, talks of a sequel are already generating buzz, igniting excitement among fans eager to see what’s next for Sonny Hayes and the Apex APXGP team. While nothing has been officially confirmed, the momentum is undeniably building!

This film is not just a blockbuster; it’s a cultural phenomenon that is set to redefine the racing genre. Keep your eyes peeled, as the F1 movie continues to garner attention and accolades, positioning itself as a serious player in the upcoming awards season!
