RFK Racing’s Bold Move: Has Adding a Third Car Elevated or Sunk Brad Keselowski’s Team?

In a daring move to enhance their status in the NASCAR Cup Series, RFK Racing made the strategic decision to incorporate a third car into their lineup. While skeptics anticipated a decline in performance due to resource allocation, co-owner Brad Keselowski stands firm in his belief that the addition has propelled the team to new heights.

Speaking on Amazon Prime Video’s post-race show at Pocono Raceway, Keselowski highlighted the positive impact of driver Ryan Preece on the team’s overall development. He emphasized the infusion of crucial resources, particularly in personnel, that the third car facilitated. The addition of key individuals like Doug Randolph and the reinforcement of various departments have contributed to RFK Racing’s progress.

Despite Keselowski’s optimism, the on-track results present a mixed picture. A comparison between the team’s performance in 2024 and 2025 reveals some interesting insights. While driver Chris Buescher has shown a slight improvement with more top-10 and top-five finishes in 2025, Keselowski himself has struggled to replicate his success from the previous season.

At this juncture in the 2025 season, Keselowski lags behind with only one top-five finish and no wins, a stark contrast to his achievements at the same point in 2024. Currently positioned 30th in the points table, Keselowski is facing challenges in securing a spot in the playoffs, raising questions about the true impact of the third car addition on his performance.

In contrast, Preece, the third driver in RFK Racing, is experiencing his best Cup Series season to date. With notable finishes and a promising standing in the points table, Preece’s success adds another layer of complexity to the team dynamics.

As the season progresses, the debate rages on about whether the addition of a third car has truly benefitted or hindered Brad Keselowski’s team. The intense pressures of team ownership in NASCAR add another dimension to the analysis, leaving fans and analysts eagerly awaiting the final verdict at the end of the year.

The race for supremacy at RFK Racing continues, with each lap bringing new challenges and opportunities for Keselowski and his team.
