In a shocking turn of events, NASCAR is facing a tidal wave of backlash from fans as veteran driver Brad Keselowski opens up about the flaws of the Next Gen car, reigniting a fiery debate that has been smoldering for years.

The Next Gen car, introduced in 2022, was meant to revolutionize the sport by cutting costs and creating a level playing field. However, it has instead become a lightning rod for controversy, with drivers and fans alike lamenting the loss of the raw, driver-centric racing of the past.

One of the main issues plaguing the Next Gen car is its aerodynamics. The design of the car, with its flat underbody and diffuser, has led to dangerous lift-off incidents at high speeds, sending shockwaves through the racing community. Drivers like Corey LaJoie and Josh Berry have experienced terrifying flips, raising concerns about the safety and stability of the vehicle.

Moreover, the aerodynamic reliance of the Next Gen car has created a “dirty air” problem, impeding passing and forcing drivers to navigate through turbulent air. This design flaw has frustrated drivers like Chase Elliott and Kyle Busch, who feel that aero performance now overshadows driving skill, leading to predictable and uneventful races.

Brad Keselowski, a vocal critic of the Next Gen car, has not shied away from expressing his concerns. After witnessing cars going airborne and harrowing rollovers at Daytona, Keselowski emphasized the urgent need for enhanced safety measures, highlighting the risks posed by the untested design of the vehicle.

Recently, Keselowski stoked the flames further by sharing a tweet from Dale Earnhardt Jr. praising the Gen 4 car, triggering a wave of nostalgia among fans longing for the days of intense, high-stakes racing.

Fans have been quick to join Keselowski in his protest against NASCAR, with many taking to social media to voice their discontent. The consensus among fans is clear: the Next Gen car has strayed too far from the heart-pounding, skill-driven racing that once defined NASCAR, leaving a void that even safety advancements cannot fill.

As the outcry grows louder and fans demand a return to the glory days of racing, NASCAR finds itself at a crossroads, forced to confront the backlash and reevaluate the future of the sport in the face of mounting criticism and discontent.
