The BMW continues to work on the new M5 Touring that will hit the market this year, however, the Bavarian brand has already announced that it will introduce the i5 Touring in the spring, a 100% electric station wagon version of the sedan.
It seems certain that the new variant will feature an M signature version, which, according to the teaser revealed on social media, is expected to have a front section similar to the zero-emission sedan, as well as new rear lights with a sleeker design.
It is expected that the new sporty i5 Touring will make use of the sedan’s M60 xDrive powertrain, equipped with two electric motors, one per axle, with a combined power output of 601 hp and maximum torque of 820 Nm. The electric motors are powered by an 81.2 kWh battery with usable capacity.
