While there have been few changes on the exterior, BMW has focused on new materials for the interior. Notably, the curved screen that incorporates the 12.3″ digital instrument panel and a 14.9″ central screen that makes use of the latest infotainment system, the BMW Operating System 8.5. In addition, some physical buttons have been eliminated, including those for the climate control system, which is now controlled by the touchscreen.

Despite maintaining the traditional sport seats and the option to choose carbon fiber M seats, the renewed M4 is equipped with a new flat-bottom steering wheel with Alcantara finish.
