BMW renews the M4 Competition, which arrives with more power.

After renewing the Series 3, BMW decided to follow the same path with the Series 4, including the top M4 versions that continue to be available in coupe and convertible variants.

On the outside, there are few aesthetic changes, as the renewed M4 maintains the huge front grille, but it is worth mentioning the new lighting signature with a new design, new LED headlights, as well as rear lights with laser technology.

While there have been few changes on the exterior, BMW has focused on new materials for the interior. Notably, the curved screen that incorporates the 12.3″ digital instrument panel and a 14.9″ central screen that makes use of the latest infotainment system, the BMW Operating System 8.5. In addition, some physical buttons have been eliminated, including those for the climate control system, which is now controlled by the touchscreen.

Despite maintaining the traditional sport seats and the option to choose carbon fiber M seats, the renewed M4 is equipped with a new flat-bottom steering wheel with Alcantara finish.

The biggest news, however, is the increase in power in the M4 Competition xDrive version, in the all-wheel drive variant, as the German brand has equipped the 3.0-liter inline-six twin-turbo engine with 530 hp, 20 hp more than its predecessor, allowing for an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and a limited top speed of 259 km/h.

The rear-wheel drive M4 Competition continues to deliver 510 hp. The Competition versions are equipped with an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission. On the other hand, the M4 maintains its previous power output of 480 hp and is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.

BMW has already announced that the renewed versions of the Series 4, coupe, convertible, and M4, are now available for order, with prices starting at €55,700 for the 420i Coupe, €63,200 for the convertible variant. The M4 version starts at €129,800, while the top-of-the-range M4 Competition M xDrive Coupe starts at €136,000. The first units are expected to arrive on the market next March.
