o commemorate 30 years of manufacturing excellence in Mexico, BMW has unveiled an exclusive M2 Coupe 30 Years Edition, a limited-run tribute that’s set to make waves among car enthusiasts. Only 30 units will be produced, and each is tailored specifically for the Mexican market, ensuring this special edition is as rare as it is powerful.
Manual Transmission Only and Exclusive Design Options
The 30 Years Edition distinguishes itself from the standard M2 with several unique touches. Available in just two eye-catching matte finishes—Frozen Portimao Blau metallic and Frozen Pure Grey metallic—this M2 also comes with one transmission choice: a six-speed manual, delighting driving purists. Inside, BMW has gone all out with red and black Merino leather bucket seats, carbon fiber accents, and an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, exuding a track-ready yet luxurious vibe.
Power Boost and Updated Features
Under the hood, the M2 30 Years Edition gets the same enhancements as the updated 2025 M2, with its twin-turbo inline-six engine now delivering 473 horsepower, 20 more than its predecessor. Alongside the power bump, this special edition also benefits from BMW’s latest iDrive system, a revamped steering wheel, and other fresh interior updates. However, one new feature of the 2025 M2, the silver-painted wheel option, appears absent in this special model based on the initial photos.
Built in Mexico, for Mexico
All units of the M2 30 Years Edition will be manufactured at BMW’s San Luis Potosi plant, continuing the brand’s long history in Mexico, which began in 1994 with the E36-generation 3 Series. This exclusive edition will only be available to Mexican customers, further cementing its unique status.
Steep Price Tag Reflects Exclusivity
With a price tag of $2,149,900 MXN (approximately $107,650 USD), the M2 30 Years Edition carries a significant premium, about $20,000 more than a standard M2 in Mexico. Yet, with only 30 units available and its collectible appeal, BMW is unlikely to struggle to find buyers eager to own this piece of automotive history.
A Fitting Tribute to BMW’s Mexican Legacy
This ultra-rare edition is more than just a celebration of BMW’s 30-year milestone in Mexico—it’s a symbol of the company’s commitment to innovation and craftsmanship in the country. For those lucky enough to snag one of the 30 units, the BMW M2 Coupe 30 Years Edition offers a thrilling combination of power, exclusivity, and heritage.
