BMW announced that the Debrecen factory in Hungary has produced the first test units of the Neue Klasse X.
The prototypes that came out of that production unit will now be used in development testing and already present a design very close to the series models that will begin production at the end of 2025.
“The production of the first test vehicles in Debrecen is an important milestone for the new factory”, said Milan Nedeljković, a member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for production.
The German brand clarified that this phase of production for the test models serves to allow the Debrecen factory to test all logistics and production processes under real conditions, ensuring a smooth start to the series production of the models.
As part of this process, the test vehicles go through all stages of production. This means that all logistics processes, production equipment, and operations performed by the factory workers need to function smoothly.
BMW emphasizes that these operations are as complex as those that will take place when the factory begins series production of the Neue Klasse X.
Conducting system tests for the future BMW model significantly contributes to identifying potential issues that may arise later.
