Bezzecchi deixa a equipe de MotoGP de Rossi com grandes consequências.

In the world of MotoGP, Maverick Vinales’ recent move to Tech3 made Aprilia’s vacant seat the most sought-after destination. Of course, Aprilia didn’t have to make much effort to attract another proven winner like Marco Bezzecchi. However, Bezzecchi’s move from VR46 Ducati created a cascade effect in the crazy season, which seems to be coming to an end but still holds surprises.

One of the biggest consequences of Bezzecchi’s promotion is the possible replacement of Franco Morbidelli. Morbidelli, who hasn’t had the best performance in MotoGP since his rise as a star in 2020, always felt secure due to his connection with VR46 and Valentino Rossi. But with Bezzecchi leaving a vacancy in Rossi’s team, Morbidelli seems to be the obvious choice to take his place. Although there is a chance for Morbidelli to stay at Pramac, the decrease in the number of available riders could make a move to Yamaha more attractive.

With the Ducati rider ranks depleted and VR46 expressing interest in Morbidelli, it’s a perfect combination waiting to happen. The only other VR46 Academy rider who could replace Bezzecchi is Moto2’s Celestino Vietti. However, Vietti’s current form suggests that resolving Morbidelli’s future is a higher priority.

Bezzecchi and his current teammate, Fabio Di Giannantonio, have had a competitive relationship since their debut days in MotoGP. Although Bezzecchi initially had the advantage, Di Giannantonio has shown significant improvement in their third year together. This makes Di Giannantonio valuable to Aprilia and potentially indispensable in the Desmosedici customer structure.

If Pramac stays or not, Di Giannantonio’s MotoGP career seems safe. Both VR46 and Gresini will likely welcome him to their teams, depending on who secures the factory contract from Ducati, Fermin Aldeguer. Di Giannantonio may even have the opportunity to ride a factory-spec bike for the first time, depending on how Aldeguer’s situation unfolds.

Bezzecchi’s move to Aprilia also impacted the factory seat market. With only two nominally available seats, it seems that Alex Rins’ seat at Yamaha and Joan Mir’s seat at Honda are the remaining options. However, Mir’s recent statements suggest that he is sticking with Honda, while there are rumors that Honda is considering Toprak Razgatlioglu if he decides to move to MotoGP. Rins’ situation is uncertain, but the official Yamaha team is currently behind all satellite teams in the standings.

With the formation of the Aprilia factory team set, they can turn their attention to helping their satellite team, Trackhouse, maximize their lineup for 2025. The CEO of Aprilia has expressed support for the Trackhouse boss and believes that there are good options available with premier class experience. While Trackhouse may continue with Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez, they may also consider reaching out to Rins or exploring the best available talent from Moto2, such as championship leader Sergio Garcia.

Overall, Bezzecchi’s move to Aprilia has had significant consequences in the wild MotoGP season, affecting riders like Morbidelli and Di Giannantonio, and potentially shaping the lineups of Ducati and Trackhouse teams. The market may still hold surprises as teams finalize their lineups for the upcoming season.
