Bertone continues to make headlines and after several troubled years, the brand has revealed its first hypercar, the GB110, at the prestigious Top Marques event in Monaco, showcasing the model that celebrates the 110th anniversary of the Italian brand.
Limited to 33 units, the GB110 is a hypercar intended for collectors and is equipped with a 5.2-liter, twin-turbo V10 engine capable of delivering 1110 hp of power and a maximum torque of 1000 Nm, which is transmitted to all four wheels.
These values allow Bertone to announce that the GB 110, weighing 1520 kg, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and reach a limited top speed of 350 km/h.
Most hypercars with this level of power rely on a hybrid configuration to achieve these numbers. However, Bertone went further with the GB 110, which consumes synthetic fuels produced from plastic waste that would normally end up in the garbage.
To obtain these fuels, Bertone partnered with Select Fuel, a company that has developed technology to convert polycarbonate materials into renewable fuel.
The GB 110 has a wheelbase of 2.63 meters, which is only 10 mm shorter than the Lamborghini Huracan. The chassis is equipped with double-arm suspension, coil springs, and four-level damping adjustment. The front wheels are 21” in size, while the rear wheels use 22” rims.
Built to celebrate Bertone’s 110th anniversary, the GB110 is also a tribute to Giovanni Bertone, the founder of Carrozzeria Bertone, the Italian design house that went bankrupt in 2014 but was eventually rescued by Ideaactive, a company owned by the Ricci brothers.
Bertone has not yet revealed further details about the GB, nor the prices of the new limited edition hypercar, which is expected to happen in the coming months.
