Bentley has decided to produce a Bentayga S in a unique color, and for this, the brand’s customization division, Mulliner, has turned to the services of British designer Supriya Lele.
The chosen color, Nīla Blue, which will be available exclusively to Mulliner customers, is a deep blue inspired by Supriya Lele’s Indian heritage, meaning “sapphire” and representing a perfect blend of personal history and craftsmanship. This distinct shade, rich in personal and cultural significance, embodies the perfect fusion of automotive luxury and haute couture, reflecting the pinnacle of craftsmanship, innovation, and personalized expression.
Supriya Lele envisioned this deep blue not only for its Indian roots but also to give voice to William Gass’s 1976 philosophical treatise, ‘On Blue,’ which explores the symbolic meaning of blue in relation to themes of sensuality, melancholy, and sadness. The Nīla Blue color was applied to a Bentayga S, fitted with 22″ sporty wheels featuring a fine blue line.
The cabin also features personalized and luxurious details, such as black speaker grilles from the sound system, hand-cut open-pore walnut veneers, all finished in Nīla Blue.
“Creating this color for Bentley was an exciting and special experience. Color plays a key role in both my practice and the identity of the brand. This shade of blue feels distinct, elegant, and slightly different from the usual”, said Supriya Lele.
Bentley has not disclosed the price of this Bentayga S in the color envisioned by the British designer.
